- Represented doctor in defense of medical malpractice claims involving claims of failure to timely diagnose resulting in multiple amputations caused by meningococcemia meningitis in minor child. Jury trial in Dallas County televised live on Court TV with plaintiff seeking $20 million in damages. Jury returned a zero verdict of no liability.
- Represented insulation contractor in defending toxic tort claims by plaintiff with confirmed mesothelioma who alleged exposure to asbestos sought damages in excess of a million dollars. Jury trial in Harris County resulted in a zero verdict for defense.
- Represented psychiatrist in defending claims alleging failure to provide proper follow-up care resulting in suicide. Case tried in Smith County which returned a zero verdict of no liability.
- Represented an oral surgeon in defending claims of wrongful death following surgery to repair a broken jaw on a 50 year old female patient. Jury trial in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas result in a zero verdict for the defense.
- Represented ophthalmologist accused of medical negligence in performing cataract surgery. Following jury trial in Smith County, jury returned a defense verdict of no liability.

Ken W. Good

Ken W. Good is a Board Certified Appellate Attorney who has argued appeals before the Texas Supreme Court, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and the United Stated Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. In addition to his appellate practice, Ken also has first-chair jury trial experience in resolving complex negotiations ranging from contract disputes to litigation. - Safety National Casualty Corp. v. State, 305 S.W.3d 586 (Tex. Crim. App. 2010) where court adopted our position concerning ability of Courts of Appeal in Texas to charge certain filing fees in certain insurance appeals.
- Safety National Casualty Corp. v. State, 273 S.W. 3d 157 (Tex. Crim. App. 2008) where Court accepted our argument and ruled for the first time in two decades that a statue was constitutional after having previously held two previous versions of the statute were unconstitutional.
- In re Lester Collins, M.D., 286 S.W. 3d 911 (Tex. 2009) where Texas Supreme Court adopted our position that the trial court could not enter an order restricing our client's access to information permitted by statute.
- In re Jorden, 249 S.W.3d 416 (Tex. 2008) where Texas Supreme Court agreed with our argument that pre-suit discovery in a medical malpractice case was not permitted under the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code.

Billy D. Anderson

Billy D. Anderson has 18 years experience litigating and representing clients in a broad range of disputes. Cynthia Stevens Kent

Cynthia Stevens Kent joined the firm after 24 years of public service as a District Judge and County Court at Law Judge. Judge Kent presided over all types of civil, felony and misdemeanor criminal, family law and juvenile law cases. She served 20 years as Judge of the 114th Judicial District Court and for four years as Judge of the County Court at law Number 2 of Smith County. Now serving as an arbitrator and mediator, Judge Kent brings her decades of judicial experience to the table to assist parties in resolution of their disputes. As a nationally recognized author and instructor in handling capital cases, Judge Kent's extensive criminal law experience can assist clients in fair resolution of adult and juvenile criminal charges.
